Definition of a Co-ops

Postby Michaelh » Fri Jan 08, 2010 1:49 pm

I am in a early planing of a nonprofit org, but really does not know the how and if it is even worth the time and effort to start one. I guess I can start with the 'what' first. So please educate me about the definition and the business structures of a nonprofit and a Co-op before I go any further.

A great source of information about coops is St. Mary's University in Halifax. They have a master's degree on the subject and might even answer your questions. Here's the link. http://www.smu.ca/academic/sobey/programs/mmccu/ Tom Webb, on the faculty there may answer your questions.
